DIY Upgrade 3D Printer to Gaming Rig Look

DIY Upgrade 3D Printer to Gaming Rig Look

Project Concept: Most 3D printers look like industrial tools. This project transforms the Creality Ender 3 into a modern, sleek 'Gaming Rig' by housing all electronics—Power Supply, Mainboard, and Screen—inside a custom-modded CPU tower.

Key Features

  • WiFi Controlling: Integrated remote access for starting and stopping prints.
  • OctoPi In-built: Running OctoPrint on a Raspberry Pi 3-B for advanced monitoring and control.
  • RGB Light Bluetooth Control: Modern aesthetics with customizable lighting controlled via smartphone.
  • Custom Design: Over 38 unique 3D printed parts for internal and external components.

Build Process

The build involved stripping the Ender 3 of its stock electronics, extending approximately two dozen wires, and mounting everything securely within the PC chassis using custom-designed brackets and standoffs. The cables are routed through flexible PVC piping for a professional, robotic umbilical look.

This mod doesn't just look good; it protects the electronics from dust, provides better active cooling, and turns your printer into a high-end command center.
